Christian Dior - Paris Fall 2009
(PARIS) John Galliano plans a trip? Sure, you'll go. For Fall, he looked East--way East--and offered up a painstakingly-researched take on "Persian miniatures and the rich decadence of the Orientalists," as the line notes articulated. The maison's classics were reconfigured accordingly--dove grey pinstripe suits cut in a domed shape, while silk trousers took the drop-crotch trend to a new high (although it's low). The sheer beaded silk caftans in saturated shades of sea foam, ocean blue, crimson and burnt orange reminded shoppers why, when he's coming, we're buying.
