Chic Report: Art abounded at Christian Lacroix's Fall 2008 show, which featured strong sculpted silhouettes like egg-shaped caped coats and crisp tulip skirts balanced by neat jackets. The bright palette enlivened collage-y prints and textures. Standouts included the short scoop-back dresses in duchesse satin. "I wanted to collect elements of abstract painting and colors when I started designing," Lacroix explained, "and focus on the silhouette. When we saw the girls, they looked like beautiful, dangerous insects with a tremendous shape." It was a dream come true for Anna Piaggi. "I love the tableau vivant," she said. "This was the living painting of happiness."
