Chic Report: For fall, Viktor & Rolf decided to express their annoyance with fashion in an ultra-surrealist way, sprinkling the words “dream on,” “wow,” and “no” throughout the collection (“It’s our glamorous protest,” the design duo told us). The color palette was quite austere--black and grey with pops of red, cranberry, and green--and the looks were meant to have an activist feel, with clingy black turtlenecks, marching boots, droopy grey jackets, and cocoon silhouettes making a major showing. Sexier pieces included cranberry cigarette pants and a ruffled red shell. “They have a great sense of elegance, refinement, imagination, and fun,” said Marisa Berenson. “It’s a funny tale told with creativity and wit, but it’s still feminine and beautiful!”
