Chic Report: This season, Nicolas Ghesquière mixed his own techno-chic sensibility in with some silhouettes from Balenciaga's archives, resulting in a collection full of slick, sexy, sculpted clothes sure to fill Jennifer Connelly's closet this fall. Many of the pieces were sliced and cut, like a series of criss-crossed, draped tanks, a turquoise-and-cream shift, high-slit skirts, and a noir-ish black dress with super-sexy cutouts. Other standouts included a Chinoiserie-print dress, gold cocktail frock, and sleek grey pants. Must-have alert: a collection of truly divine bracelets and necklaces added a touch of glamour-girl sparkle. "Nicolas points the way ahead with vision," Hilary Alexander observed. "He's sculpting, scissoring, cutting. The hand-painted gorgeous jackets look like the inside of a Ming Dynasty Palace."
