Dior - Paris Fall 2008
(PARIS) Roll Call: Delphine Arnault, Bernard Arnault, Kris Van Assche, Clotilde Courau, Mónica Cruz, Mario Sorrenti, Patrick Demarchelier, Anna Wintour, Carine Roitfeld, Emmanuelle Alt, Tracy Taylor
Chic Report: John Galliano’s muse was loud and clear in his fall collection, a bright, impossibly glamorous tribute to Swinging Sixties sirens (think Valley of the Dolls starring Jackie O at her sexiest). The models, styled perfectly in teased-within-an-inch-of-its-life hair and mod makeup, wore luxurious fur, geometric prints, tidy skirt suits with boxy jackets--the combo came in everything from houndstooth to caramel leather--and Crayola-colored cocktail frocks in teal, embellished orange, and fuchsia. Sixties supermodel Marisa Berenson raved, “John brought Dior’s wonderful past to the present with luxurious opulence.” Lucy Liu agreed. “I loved the sense of humor about the show,” raved the Cashmere Mafia star. “The hair and makeup was stunning! John truly packaged a collection for us to love and devour.”
