InStyle Makes Changes To Editorial Team

by Dena Silver

In an effort to focus more on the digital side of their business, InStyle has made some changes to their editorial team. This refocus will result in the speculated layoffs of 5 to 10 editorial staffers and the subsequent creation of five new jobs created which span both digital and print capacities, according to WWD. A spokesperson for the magazine did not comment on the changes or confirm the new hires. Also of note, two staffers were promoted in a company-wide meeting this morning. Cindy Weber-Cleary, the glossy’s fashion director, has been given the title of special projects editor. In addition to her current monthly features for the print and digital editions of InStyle, she will become involved in brand extensions and fashion partnerships, mostly in the online realm. Current style director Melissa Rubini will be taking on the fashion director role. “Melissa and Cindy will play important roles in the growth of InStyle, as we accelerate the integration of print and digital, and focus on innovation outside of the core product,” InStyle‘s EIC Ariel Foxman told The Daily.
