(NEW YORK) Cynthia Rowley’s collection was eerily appropriate for a rainy Friday. "I had the idea of this girl who ran away and got stuck in the rain," she explained, but somehow, the models donning Rowley’s bleeding prints and feminine silhouettes wore "wet" infinitely better than the show’s soaked spectators. A dreamy palate of blues, violets, and grays painted vintage-inspired cocktail dresses and cinched skirts. Loose bows hung from the neck of classically cut blouses, and pinned to the most bewitching looks lay arrangements of paveed crystal flowers. "It’s about ladylike clothes but totally messed up," said Rowley. The slashed ribbon dress falls into that category, but while its sliced and diced form might be mildly unsettling, its structured bodice and textural skirt ground Rowley’s enchanted collection.
