Nicole Miller - New York: Spring 2010
(NEW YORK) "I’m so tired of ruffles and bows," Nicole Miller confessed. Although supremely feminine, Miller’s collection hardly overdosed on saccharine sweet. Rather, the pieces focused on fusing nighttime sparkle with athleticism. "I plan on expanding my active wear, and so I really enjoy the techno athletic look." Cut-out backs imbued the demure dresses with a playful ease. Miller found a way to make even gray exuberant by injecting the steely pieces with sprays of peacock-colored kaleidoscopic print. An emphasis on opalescence gave the gray and muted green color palate a sense of motion. Known for her skilled ability to flatter the female frame, Miller delivered a collection that was at once delicate and bold.
