Temperley London - New York Spring 2010
(NEW YORK) Alice Temperley has proven that she is anything but ordinary, so why would we expect her Spring presentation to be anything but outrageous? Inspired by the 1920s and '30s circus, the designer worked with the Milk Studios' team Legs to feature a film during the revealing of her collection. Projected onto a screen by a in intricately decorated zoetrope, the film showed circus folk, from contortionists to trapeze artists, practicing their skills in Temperly's new clothes. "We wanted to basically become the traveling circus this season," said Temperly. She succeeded in this feat through big-top inspired black and white stripped chiffons, embellished top-hats and harlequin-print jumpsuits. Wearable refinement was found in layered cream jacquard skirts and jackets, and knit tops and dresses in mesmerizing purples and reds spiced up the color palette.
