Carlos Miele - New York Spring 2009
(NEW YORK) The difference a live musician can make at a fashion show is astounding. Carlos Miele perked up the bleary-eyed crowd Wednesday afternoon, with Brazilian artist Sru Jorge singing on the runway as models floated by in Miele’s ethereal frocks. “I found this collection in the garden, it’s a rainforest garden with white flowers, bright blossoms and some prints,” said Miele. “There are shadows of trees, texture of foliage and outdoor scenes. They are the color of days and night in the forest.” Red, pink, orange and blue added to a tropical escapist feel, while muted tones kept the collection grounded in soft sand. The art, architecture and music of his home in Florianopolis informed the Spring 2009 collection and inspired the crowd.
