Gap - New York Spring 2009
(NEW YORK) For the Gap this season, Patrick Robinson said the collection was all about “a new American optimism.” Optimism could be found in a pervasive casual elegance and especially in the vibrant color blocked swimwear. Taking its cue perhaps from the men’s runways of Milan this past summer, blazers were paired with pajama bottoms for what Robinson called “sophistication with ease.” A women’s blazer made out of jersey had a similar effect. All in all, it was a strong collection for Gap - and if the turnout of high-powered editors was any indication, it will not go unnoticed.
