Carolina Herrera - Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2008
(NEW YORK) Carolina Herrera brought her classic feminine touch to the runway with a mixture of gowns, skirts, short dresses and shorts paired with her typical bow accentuations and gorgeous flowers created by beading. With inspiration from the watercolors of Jeremiah Goodman, Herrera took a different approach to the season’s wide-legged pants and high belts, moving towards wide shorts and dresses that accentuated the real waist with ribbon belts and sashes. Designs were eye-catching and refined; the pleating and tiered ruffles chic rather than overwhelming. A ruffled top-and-shorts combo that combined sophistication with casual nonchalance exemplified the insouciantly elegant attitude of the collection. The finale dresses were tableaus come to life with their vibrant floral colors, luxurious draping, and unrelenting femininity.
