Douglas Hannant - Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2008
(NEW YORK) A purveyor of fine living, Douglas Hannant's designs are made for an elegant, modern woman. His spring collection showed that Hannant knows how to design dresses that are classic but young and colorful at the same time. Some of the them came in more neutral, restrained colors, like white taffeta and lace matched with oversized white hats. These outfits were made for a refined gamine, an Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's on her summer vacation. Out of the white pieces, the wide-legged pants matched with a white long-sleeved shirt with a big bow was the strongest, most striking look. Hannant was at his best with color and loose-fitting shapes, like the blue satin and flower prints which he used to craft long, gorgeous satin and chiffon dresses, or knee-length day pieces.
