(NEW YORK) Elise Øverland
With photographs of open-heart surgery as a starting point, Elise Øverland played with a palette of navy, rust, and blood-red alongside her signature black leather pieces to dazzling effect. For the girl who dresses in a pile—on of pieces, there was plenty to choose from—starting with an oversize, broad-shouldered shearling. An eelskin leather suit in an underused shade of navy is destined for those working girls hell-bent on chic. Those seeking a more casual style will go for the navy velvet style, with the kind of loose, easy pants that feel just right these days. But a long-sleeved black leather minidress with a bit of flourish around the neck and a deep V back best encapsulates this designer's signature brand of powerful, sexy dressing.
