Runway Reviews: Carlos Campos

Carlos Campos’s Fall 2010 line draws on inspirations from all things Mexico, namely the passion of mariachi musicians. Men’s tailored jackets were unmistakably inspired by the traditional charro suits worn by the mariachi players. Both men’s and women’s looks were on display for his presentation which consisted of dark neutrals against the bold colors associated with Mexican floral prints. Campos says his looks pull from these traditional inspirations while remaining modern and practical. Campos chose a presentation in part for fear of losing the details of his designs, including charro embroidery and studding.
