(NEW YORK) Last season Tia Cibani reflected on the beauty of nature, and for Fall 2010 the Ports 1961 designer expanded on this notion, exploring the harmony and tension between nature and technology. Warm tweed coats in shades of clover, leather caps, and liquid silk trousers underscored this seemingly dichotomous relationship. Bursts of texture and mixing black silk, sequins, and feathers within single pieces injected the collection with a marked sensuality. Laser-cut French lace updated the fabric, adding to the futuristic feel. Exposed zippers and splashes of leather amidst earth tones still had deeply artisanal characteristics, highlighting Cibani’s goal of finding a place where “technologies co-exist with the natural.”
