Calvin Klein - New York Fall 2008
(NEW YORK) Roll Call: Ali Larter, Liv Tyler, Carine Roitfeld, Anna Wintour, Francisco's muse Kathryn Neale, Plum Sykes
Chic Report: As the rhythmic soundtrack gradually escalated to techno-thumping at the Calvin Klein show, so did the deceptively smooth creations. Minimal at first glance, the jackets, skirts, and dresses--in luxe boiled wool, cashmere, shearling, and metallic silk combinations--were all tailored to perfection. But it wasn’t just the finishings on the clothes that stole the show: Costa’s signature garment edges, daring angles, and folds transformed simplicity into a form of chic seductive stimulation. "For me, the foundations of this collection were all about female construction and architecture. I found this adjustable paper puzzle from the turn of the century at a flea market and I was inspired, since it seems so simple and approachable, yet so internally complex," Costa explained. Happy fifth year!
