Calvin Klein - New York Fall 2007
(NEW YORK) Cutting through the clutter with a tightly edited collection, Francisco Costa confidently delivered at Calvin Klein the message of the season—and, unlike so many of his peers, did not do so through references to the ‘20s, ‘30s, or ‘40s. Instead, he focused on what chic means today: jersey, lean, monochromatic, with the depth of new fabric play, and a concealed sensuality that came through in nipped waists and barely-there overlays. He cited one inspiration, Liz Taylor in the movie Butterfield 8—perhaps because, like Liz's eyes, sometimes jet-dark, sometimes violet, sometimes tinged with bluemarine, Costa's looks caught the light of the woman inside.|page|
