Rag & Bone Fall/Winter 2016

To the beats of drummers Mauro Refosco, Joey Waronker, and longtime Rag & Bone collaborator Kris Bones, a visibly pleased audience soaked in the label’s men’s and women’s collections. Refosco and Waronker are bandmates with Thom Yorke, who typically provides the soundtrack to this show, in Atoms for Peace. Marcus Wainwright and David Neville went denim-heavy and fall staples like outerwear and knits captured the best of Rag & Bone—military, single-buttoned jackets, and English tailoring. Other pieces gave a nod to the ‘90s, like racing-striped track pants and a few sweatshirts with Rag & Bone Universal type in exhibiting a branding technique inherent to that era. An oversized military green anorak with orange lining wasn’t particularly new, but who cares when it is so particularly covetable? Destructed sweaters dominated womenswear knits—off the shoulder and twisted sideways—that worked when layered over sleeveless turtlenecks. It felt like a runway of Rag & Bone’s greatest hits.
