Giorgio Armani - Milan Spring 2010
(MILAN) In his show notes, Giorgio Armani tried to explain what Body Art was through a myriad of adjectives and synonyms. "It's movement that displays an attitude and unleashes creativity, a spark that finds its own destiny, assuming a new identity, gathering color, line and shape," the notes precisely said. Unfortunately, the shorter crops of dresses were clearly lacking something both in color and in shape. His one-shoulder shorts in starker tones like iris and green made the models look bulkier than they were. The successful moments in the show consisted of signature dresses and magical production--and Roger Federer and Janet Jackson in the front row. Save for the strong last three party dress looks and timeless pants, the effort was clearly less glamorous than what we come to expect of Mr. Armani.
