(MILAN) A not-so-secret garden, courtesy of wall hangings depicting a topiary’ed paradise, provided the setting for Cavalli's Spring collection. Not his usual type? No worries. This season, there was something for most, if not everyone. The dress-centric collection focused largely on evening, while even floor-grazing shirt-dresses were forged of diaphanous chiffon. Gamine floral prints reminiscent of kid-room wallpaper launched the looks, which stuck to extreme lengths of mini and maxi. This is Cavalli--why compromise? Strapless minifrocks in powder blue and baby pink were on the right side of cutesy, with a silk bib printed with Victorian florals and a three-tiered skirt printed with china pattern detail. The last two evening dresses--one, a tiered bridal frock infested with ruffles; the other a more manageable grey version on Lily Cole--were testaments to Cavallism, where indulgence reigns supreme. Who's hungry?
