Marni - Milan Fashion Week Spring 2008
Described as a story of light and depth, and of technical and natural materials, Marni’s new collection played with fabrics of cotton organdie, patent leather, jersey, and viscose. Colors varied from pearl to deep iris blue, and featured pleating as well as zippered accents. Typically funky Marni accessories came in the form cone hats, futuristic wedges, oversized necklaces, and envelope bags. Midlength dresses, longer shorts, and tapered pants illustrated a collection that had structure yet was romantic and mod. And the dresses adorned with sequins or single circular ruffles certainly showed off Consuelo Castiglioni's penchant for textiles.
