Versace - Milan Fall 2008
(MILAN) Roll Call: Patrick Dempsey, Megan Fox, Fergie, Hu Bing, Mario Testino, Patrick Demarchelier, Kate Betts, Suzy MenkesChic Report: Attention, actresses: Your Oscar gowns have arrived. Donatella Versace's fall 2008 collection was inspired by a jaunt to Berlin, where the designer discovered Dutch artist Timothy Roeloffs. His series of collages translated into vivid prints on Donatella's standout dresses. Voluminous cropped coats, mid-calf skirts, sleek trousers and asymmetrical dresses abounded. Versace focused particularly on the one-shouldered gown in industrial tones like steel grey, cadet blue, and blush, which were offset with bursts of purple, fuschia, and yellow. Stephanie Soloman of Bloomingdale's enthused, "WOW! She never disappoints, she stays true to her spirit. It's lighthearted, it's sexy, it's full of life. And it's what every single woman wants to wear!"
