Emilio de la Morena - London Spring 2010
(LONDON) Emilio de la Morena's vision for Spring/Summer 2010 continues in the tradition of his sexy, sculptural, figure-hugging dresses, but with a twist. Inspired by the artist Annette Messager, de la Morena's collection takes underwater elements (think jellyfish, sea urchins, foliage) and transplants them into organza layers on mini-dresses and skirts, while unusual fabrics like fisherman nets line sheer dresses. De la Morena also explores concepts of strength and fragility with this collection - a would-be leather bomber jacket (actually made from plasticized jersey and tulle) is paired with a delicate, sheer skirt for an effect at once soft and strong.
