Richard Nicoll - London Fashion Week Spring 2008
(LONDON) The man behind some of the best tailored shirts produced a breakthrough collection this season, for the first time creating a full-fledged line. His minimalist palette consisted of whites, beiges, greys, creams, and black, with occasional injections of color: a lavender blouse here, a watercolor brushstroke of pink and purple--on an all-white T-shirt and trouser combo--there, and sophisticated silver and bronze metallic pieces. Sheer layered organza shirting transitioned to dresses of different lengths and fabrics casually worn together, and opacity recurred throughout the collection, culminating in the beige organza and metallic bronze pleated dresses that finished the show on a super-elegant, feminine note.
