Duro Olowu - London Fashion Week Spring 2008
(LONDON) Duro Olowu made a name for himself with his eclectic empire waist, kimono-like dresses made from a mélange of vintage fabrics, but this season he went a step further, showing an accomplished collection. Inspired by the vibrant colors of India, he opened his show with a teal green trouser-suit with a pretty navy gingham shirt, pink ruffled gingham shirts worn with low-waisted teal green trousers, and jade green belted jackets worn with pencil skirts in the same hue. His famous "Duro dresses" have also evolved: he showed trapeze-shaped ones with pieces of vintage fabrics with flower prints and full sleeves, and mid-calf floral versions with ruffled hemlines.
