Christopher Kane - London Fashion Week Spring 2008
(LONDON) For someone whose collection (or to be more precise, parts of it) was stolen a week ago, Christopher Kane delivered his show without a hitch. His Spring 2008 collection was shown to a full house near Holborn, at the TopShop/New Generation venue-Anna Wintour, Jefferson Hack, and Daphne Guinness included. His concept? Crocodile Dundee and Stephen King stories like Children of the Corn and Carrie. Cue here, midi-length hemlines on fluttery camisoles and tiered chiffon cream dresses, snake print chiffon trousers, shirts, and biker jackets, and ruffles, ruffles, ruffles. A departure from Kane's signature body-hugging looks, the looser silhouettes he showed this season proved to be a hit, as everyone rushed backstage to congratulate London's other leading man.
