Lela Rose - Bridal Fall 2008
(NEW YORK) At approximately 645,000 words, Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand is one of the longest novels ever written. Fortunately for Lela Rose who sought inspiration for her fall collection from the book, that only translated into six distinct new gowns. “I always make sure you can wear my gowns barefoot for a destination wedding,” the Texan designer said with a laugh. “For me, it’s never that out-of-the-box brand spankin’ new look.” Fashioned in mostly silk and wool and silk faille, the dresses came accompanied with such names as pagoda, spiral staircase, lily pond, and rose garden (which translated into a stylish Chantilly lace backed gown with voile silk cotton). Tulle with cotton pique embroidery, meanwhile, lent an air of casualness.
