(NEW YORK) “We kept it very dark and we played with a lot of textures this season,” explained Michelle Ochs. The duo delivered a bang-out buffet of figure-flattering, ultra-feminine looks in black, chocolate, taupe, and cream, and the pieces were punctuated with perforated leather and netting. The designers stayed true to their body-embracing forms, as black crinkle sheath dresses and stretch leather skinnies celebrated the female frame while never losing an ounce of attitude. “We were especially influenced by Tony Cragg, the sculptor,” Carly Cushnie noted. A cream mini dress adorned with sculpted, swirling accents echoed this influence. Cushnie went on to remark, “The lines and the way that the dresses fell were really inspired by his shapes and came directly from looking at his work. It was all very moody. We also wanted one accessory that would really add a sparkle on the hand.” Leather gloves hand embroidered with crystals looked positively lethal and served as a perfect exclamation mark for the collection.
