Here’s a gem from the pages of the Daily Summer: Who wouldn’t want to strengthen, lengthen, and tone? Entrepreneur Amanda Freeman’s brutal-yet-effective SLT fitness studios have gained scores of fit fans on the East End and beyond. Case in point? Supermodel Nina Agdal.

Have you always considered yourself sporty?
I’ve always been very active. I used to dance when I was younger, and I played basketball for years. I like to try out any kind of sport to challenge myself and have fun. Since I’m from Denmark, I used to watch a lot of soccer as well, so I know how to kick a ball.

When did you discover SLT?
My friend took me to my first SLT class about a year ago. The first couple of classes are all about getting comfortable with the machine and starting slow, but when you’re past that, you can really get into it!

What about the workout appeals to you?
I do a lot of high-intensity workouts in addition to SLT, so it’s definitely the leaning and toning part that appeals to me the most. It’s a low-impact cardio workout, but the slower movements that exhaust the muscles really lengthen and tone.

How frequently do you do it?
I try to go at least twice a week. It’s a great workout after a long day, because it will also relax your mind because you can’t focus on anything but the movements in class. It’s a great way to clear your head for a healthy mind and body.

What’s your summer beauty routine?
Drink a lot of water, wear high SPF sunscreen whenever you’re in the sun, and go light on the makeup. You’ll have a natural summer glow to you anyway.

What are your go-to beauty products?
I love rosewater spray for my face, because it’s super light on my skin and keeps it healthy, especially in the summer. Besides that, I use L’Oréal Voluminous Mascara to enhance my eyes!

What’s your approach to nutrition?
I try to eat as healthy as possible and drink a lot of water and green tea to stay hydrated. Raw vegetables and lean proteins are what I eat most of the time, but I do like a good steak or a burger!

What’s your favorite way to unwind?
I’m really into golf. Maybe that’s not what you were expecting me to say, but I love it! I try to get out on the green as much as I can. It’s great because it challenges my patience. Besides that, relaxing on the beach in Miami makes me very happy.

What are your summer plans?
I’m really excited to travel for work, but I also hope there will be time to visit my family and friends in Denmark.

How were you discovered as a model?
I grew up in a small town called Hillerød and was discovered right on the street. I had never done modeling before then, but I entered the Elite Model Look competition. I didn’t end up winning, unfortunately, but right after that I signed with Elite Models Copenhagen and continued school until I was 18. Once I graduated, I moved to the States, and that’s when modeling really took off.

What has been the highlight of your career so far?
Being on the cover of the 50th-anniversary issue of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. Through modeling, I’ve been able to
see so many beautiful places that I’ll always remember. I’m really looking forward to more experiences and opportunities still to come in my career!
