‘Adult Beginners’ Premiere Brings Out The Chic Set

“I was very lucky that the script came to me with Rose Byrne, Bobby Cannavale, and Nick Kroll attached, thankfully!” Adult Beginners director Ross Katz told The Daily before the Cinema Society and Brooks Brothers-sponsored screening of his newest indie project. “All of these wonderful actors came [to film] for a day or two. It was a revolving door of great actors during our 22 days of filming.” The entire cast was our in full force at AMC Loews Lincoln Square theater, including Byrne, Cannavale, and Kroll, the latter of whom, who served as the movie’s lead actor and producer, in addition to Jane Krakowski, Bobby Moynihan, and Joel McHale.

Many of the film’s scenes take place in the pool, which Byrne admitted wasn’t the most comfortable. “It was really cold when we filmed in the pool! It was, like, 60 degrees. Freezing outside. No heater. Hopefully it just helped us look like we didn’t know how to swim,” Byrne admitted on the red carpet; she was sporting an Altuzarra look. “We lived in this house for a month together during filming. We made some pretty good mac and cheese, and obviously there were some pretty good catering moments. There always is!”

The entire cast and the chic crowd then moved downtown to Jimmy at The James Hotel, where Svedka was the drink of choice. The proverbial prom king and queen of The Tribeca Film Festival, Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde, stopped by, in addition to Adam Pally and The Office‘s Kate Flannery.
