Alberta Ferretti - Pre-Fall 2008
(NEW YORK) Alberta Ferretti took us on a flight of feminine fancy with her Pre-Fall 2008 collection. Gold and silver chains added edge to more ethereal looks, surrounding the collars of dresses, waistlines, and embellishing belts. Black dominated the collection, with select looks in silver, oatmeal, and prints; bright color came in the form of fuchsia flowers. A twinkling skirt with waves of silver and black sequins was paired with a short-sleeve black keyhole blouse for a sense of 1920s glamour. Floral embroidery adorned a black satin jacket for elegant whimsy, which contrasted with the menswear tailoring on a black trouser. Draping and fabric manipulation kept lines sleek and chic.
