Proenza Schouler - Pre-Fall 2008
(NEW YORK) For their Pre-Fall 2008 collection, the Proenza Schouler boys presented a solid mix of sophisticated and grown-up with young and fresh. With nods to the Renaissance and the Middle Ages, some pieces had pouf and tailoring while others used metallic embellishments for a coat of armor-feel. Neutral tones and cream, black, white, green, and grey dominated the palette for seasonless separates and classic looks.
Traditional suitings were modernized with shorter sleeves and hemlines, paired with a longer button-down puffy sleeved shirt for Victorian elegance. Fur collars adorned jackets and dresses for luxe warmth. A bronze metallic dress with a tulle ruffle mixed jazzy edge with a sweet, feminine aesthetic. Big pockets made for an interesting detail on a celery green wool coat, and fur pom-poms created a mock-turtleneck on a cream sleeveless top paired with a skirt.
