Badgley Mischka - Pre-Fall 2008
(NEW YORK) With the Golden Globe nominations just around the corner, Badgley Mischka's pre-fall collection was pure red-carpet sophistication. Looks were inspired by past style icons, whose dress-code was avant-garde and elegant--actress Talitha Getty and heiress Nancy Cunard. Jungle prints took a whimsical turn with lace details and delicate beading, while floral fabric fringes with metallic thread hung off a black gown for graceful movement. A strapless abstract-print dress on striped satin was Byzantine-inspired, with ornate baroque pearl-and-crystal embroidery, while a warp-print floral cocktail dress was sweetened with a big bow. The duo also created looks fit for a goddess, particularly a rich red silk satin draped gown. There was a fluidity to the collection that will have women floating with style.
