Viktor & Rolf - Paris Fall 2009
(PARIS) "We're were inspired by the splendor and eternity of Greek and Roman statues," said Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren. "In this time of instability, you want a lasting stability. Everything that's up, has to come down. So, whatever lasts has to have profound meaning." The designers certainly made most of their mini-comeback to put an ethereal and stunning Alex de Betak-produced showcase. They envisioned every mannequin as a mainstay at Metropolitan's left corner. They draped them, they covered them with phenomenal trenches and coats, and embellished them with beautiful chiffon tops. The designers truly mesmerized the audience with their aura and their last dewy confection dresses--probably breaking the architectural and autumn hues mode, but giving us something to eternally look forward to from these two.
