Chocheng - New York Spring 2010
(NEW YORK) Drawing from just about every source imaginable, Chocheng was influenced primarily by "Holly Golightly, Frederico Fellini and Japanese obi." Perhaps most notable and representative of all three major inspirations was the turquoise silk charmeuse gown with white piping and oversized bow, meant to look like a giant Tiffany's box. In Chocheng's creations, the classic jewelry boxes got an origami makeover. Chocheng's designs are totally wearable with just the right amount of romance and quirk. Billowy bell sleeves, asymmetry and coils of silk "rose petals" created this elegance meets whimsy design effect.
