Donna Karan - New York Fall 2008
Roll Call: Rachel Zoe, Linda Wells, Patricia Wexler, Anna Wintour, Jamie Pallot, Carine Roitfeld, Xanthipi Joannides, Le Figaro’s Virginie Mouzat, Rachael Taylor, Ingrid Sischy, Karen Katz, Fabien Baron, Ken Downing
Chic Report: Donna Karan was clearly into languorous, 1930s-style sophistication when she created her fall collection (think The Thin Man’s Myrna Loy slinking around her art deco bedroom in liquid dressing coats). The celadon, eggplant, and crimson-toned palette was impossibly rich-looking, and the oversized cowl-neck sweater, Bonnie Parker berets, and elaborately draped blouses and evening gowns were chic and wearable. “I love Donna because she never follows the trends,” said Susan Sarandon. “She’s a masterful draper and shapes American fashion for the better!”
