Giles - London Fall 2008
(LONDON) Chic Report: The shows thus far have been experimental and conceptual--exciting, if not exactly the stuff to send shoppers running. Giles Deacon's presentation was a welcome relief. His signature couture stylings appeared in tailored padded vests forged of silk and flared minis. The proportions weren't exactly oversized, but they were bulbous at times, exaggerated in strategic places to emphasize the more body-con tailoring. Slouchy shift dresses were offset by ultralong columns, and most everything had a goth twist, like slashed-through knits and dark, dark lips.
