Badgley Mischka - Bridal Spring 2008
(NEW YORK) Based on Grace Kelly in High Society, Badgley Mischka's collection--with gowns called Muffy, Lillian, and Tory, just to name a few--"were named after all our socialite friends." And the stunning dresses certainly did the former Princess--and reigning Park Avenue royalty--justice. Detailing was extensive: rhinestone appliqués and buttons, back sashes, beaded Alençon lace on bodices, and beaded net sleeves were just a few of the embellishments the designers used, and their bride was nothing less than regal, whether in a heavily beaded pearl silk chiffon gown with dropped waist, chiffon train, and double-beaded strap detail, or in a simpler silhouette, such as a white silk satin mini gown with detachable silk organza skirt and beaded veil. Gowns were accessorized with Badgley Mischka jewelry and models' hair was pulled back in elegant French chignons.
