Reem Acra - New York: Spring 2010
(New York) The Daily’s favorite cha-cha queen brought a sense of exuberance to her collection this season, which she described as inspired by both a vintage kaleidoscope and the 40th anniversary of Woodstock. Looks were playfully over the top without veering into costume territory: piled-on pearl and crystal necklaces, mixed-up floral and “erosion” prints, and on-trend looks like elaborately draped jersey harem pants. Of course, Acra’s red-carpet offerings will not go unnoticed (in fact, Acra is off to LA for Emmy dressing almost immediately post-show): a poppy-red strapless gown is a glam no-brainer, while a neon sulphur draped number is perfect for the more adventurous starlet.
