"I'm Not a Zoolander!"

If Chic knows one thing, it's that being really, really rediculously good looking is a hard hand to play. Take David Gandy, for example. The top male model has suffered tremendous pains in the 'biz all because he's a man...a very sexy man. "People still just think Zoolander," Gandy tells the UK's Sunday Times Style. "To come out with your pride and dignity intact is probably quite hard in this business." Do go on. "Trust me to end up working in the only industry in the world where women get paid more than men, and treated loads better. We're trying to change that. In the hierarchy of a shoot, you have the photographer, the female model, the stylists, the assistants, then the male model. You are the lowest of the low," he said. For shame!

Following the Jets' triumphant win, our sports expert Adam Brecht is one happy perfume publicist. As we try to divide our attentions between the Super Bowl and the rapidly-encroaching Fashion Week, we need behavioral guidance.

"Fashion Week: Do get a seat inches from the runway.  Don't pound the brew, paint your face green and yell, J-E-T-S!
Super Bowl: Do get a seat on the 50-yard line. Don't use your Vertu to order bass from that place in St. Barth's.
Fashion Week: Do engage the paparazzi outside Lincoln Center.  Don't wear a helmet, cleats and mouth guard.
Super Bowl: Do run with your teammates onto the field.  Don't bring a double-snap messenger bag.

Fashion Week: Do hold a press conference backstage after your runway show.  Don't talk about being knocked unconscious by an opponent.
Super Bowl: Do hold a press conference in the locker room post-game.  Don't discuss 'a return to lighthearted romanticism.'
Until next time!"

Don't worry about the calories!

It's no secret that CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner (and Chic pal) Billy Reid is crazy about southern cooking. (Remember his pig roast?) Don't worry too much about the calories in his latest specialty...

Bacon Seared Hickory Smoked Chicken Breast

In a large bowl, mix one bottle Italian dressing, 1/2 can beer, 2 TB Worchesters sauce, 2 TB AFT, 2 TB fresh ground pepper, 2 TB garlic (or a few cloves garlic). Let chicken soak in mixture overnight. When ready to cook, prepare your grill with charcoal, or char wood. Add 1 cup of hickory chips (once grill is ready) for cooking to enhance flavor. Soak hickory chips in water for 30 minutes, then remove water before putting on hot coals. Place a small skillet on your grill and line the skillet in smoked bacon. Go for Benton's bacon, if you can get it. While cooking the bacon, sear each chicken breast, one or two at a time on both sides in the cooking bacon grease, remove after 1-2 minutes and place on grill. Once all breasts are seared, cover grill and smoke chicken for 25 minutes.

Pre-Fall 2011: Swooning for Stella

Chic has a confession! Stella McCartney's pre-fall 2011 collection made us swoon like a preteen at a Bieber concert. Gone were the popped-collar denim separates and Hampton-approved prints of spring. (Sad? Non!) In their place was a modern bent on classic Stella-isms we've always adored: boxy double-breasted overcoats, lacy party frocks, mannish blazers tailored to sophistication, and knit sweater dresses swathed in vermillion, midnight, camel, and emerald. For fall, expect more ladylike dressing from Ms. McCartney, accented with edgey metal trimmed handbags (like her famous Falabella in "ox blood" crimson) and capes. Lots of capes!
