Chic can't get enough of Candice Swanepoel, so we caught her during a less-than-24-hours jaunt to NYC just as Paris fashion week kicks off. With a Vogue cover last month, a string of recent plum placements in the realm of the Angels and a jam-packed catwalk crawl, Swanepoel is simply a star right now.

How's life?
I just had the cover of Italian Vogue come out. The shoot was amazing! I'm in the middle of doing fashion weeks right now, I just got back from Paris last night and I'm going back tonight.

What's the most incredible thing you've done lately?
The Dolce & Gabbana show! There's always a great energy there, and a lot of the Angels were in it.

What did the Angels of D & G do in your downtime?
We all met at one of our hotels and had a couple of drinks. It's like our family.

What is Victoria's "Secret"?
I'm still figuring that out. No guesses yet, maybe I need a couple more years!

What was your first bra purchase like?
I could not wait to get boobs and wear sexy lingerie. My mom had a couple of black lacy bras from when she was younger, and I definitely was trying those on before I had any boobs. Then I started watching the Victoria's Secret show on TV and became obsessed.

Who are your favorite vintage Angels?
Alessandra
was always a favorite of mine. And the older girls, like Karen Mulder.

Karl Lagerfeld on Galliano: "I'm furious that it could happen"

Karl Lagerfeld is speaking out about John Galliano losing his job at Dior. "I'm furious that it could happen," he told WWD. "Because the question is no longer even whether he really said it. The image has gone around the world. It's a horrible image for fashion, because they think that every designer and everything in fashion is like this. This is what makes me crazy in that story...The thing is, we are a business world where, especially today, with the internet, one has to be more careful than ever, especially if you are a publicly known person," Lagerfeld added. "You cannot go in the street and be drunk - there are things you cannot do. I'm furious with him because of the harm he did to LVMH and [chairman and ceo] Bernard Arnault, who is a friend, and who supported him more than he supported any other designer in his group, because Dior is his favourite label. It's as if he had his child hurt."

Last night, Chic caught up with a gaggle of angels at Victoria's Secret in SoHo. The quintet of glamazons celebrated the launch of new styles of the seamless, uber high-tech Incredible bra, plus the debut of the Incredible perfume. Bedecked in a candy-hued rainbow of supershort sequined minidresses, Chanel Iman, Lily Aldridge and Candice Swanepoel chatted away while Adriana Lima and Erin Heatherton gave posing lessons in tandem on a pink carpet, complete with a photography station to capture every moment of preening with the experts. Here are a few highlights from Chic's gab seshes with the Angels. C'est Incroyable!

Lily Aldridge:
What's new?
Workin' away, everyday! Tomorrow I'm headed to Canada with Victoria's Secret so I can tell them all about the Incredible bra.
Who should be an honorary VS Angel?
I love to see Sofia Vergara be a guest Victoria's Secret model because I have the biggest crush on her. She'd be the hottest Angel ever and men would go crazy to see her model lingerie. I love her, and I think she's the sexiest woman of all time. I always try to imitate her accent, but no success yet. I always get laughed at.
What is Victoria's "Secret"?
Feeling comfortable and sexy!
Where do you feel comfortable and sexy?
I love cooking, I feel great when I'm in the kitchen.
What's your signature recipe?
I make peas and prosciutto as a side dish.
Any other sexy pastimes?
Going to concerts because I feel so free when I'm at a show.
Who are your favorite artists?
LCD Soundsystem is amazing. Their last show ever is on April 2 at Madison Square Garden, and I've got tickets. I'm already fantasizing about just dancing the whole night!
Which LCD tracks do you play on repeat?
"All My Friends" and "Someone Great" are two of my favorites.
What's the most incredible thing you've done lately?
I'll tell you the most incredible thing I'm going to do soon! I'm going to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis. I've always been a huge fan and supporter of the organization.
What kooky kids' activities should they recuit you for at St. Jude? Any hidden crafting talents?
Ice cream sundaes and maccaroni necklaces!

Chanel Iman:
What's something incredible that you've done lately?
In the last month, shooting the VS commercial in L.A. was amazing. We worked from before sun up to sundown.
How was doing a commercial versus runway or photo shoots?
I enjoy doing print much more than runway. It's less people, and it's very organized. I'm really lowkey, so that's probably why.
Highlights of the recent runway shows you've been in?
Dolce & Gabbana in Milan. I had this beautiful dress and these great shades, with my hair really sophisticated.
If you could've walked right off the runway, what would you do?
Go on a date.
Where would you go?
I don't know, wherever he wants to take me!
What's Victoria's "Secret?"
It's about being classy and getting loads of confidence and security in what you're wearing.
What are you early memories with VS?
I started working with the brand when I was 15, and I was an angel last year by age 19. I got my first set of wings at the show in September.
Tell me about your reaction to getting winged!
I basically cried.
When did you get your first bra?
It wasn't Victoria's Secret, but I was about nine years old and it was a little training bra with Tweety on it. I tried to wear that bra all the time.

Reading today's WSJ's Marketplace section, Chic was struck by this---let's just say it---unflattering woodcut of Mr. Mickey Drexler. J.Crew's chief executive is far more dashing. And what's up with that angle? Sorry, love---but every victory comes with a price, n'est-ce que pas?

Andrew Saffir Hits Hollywood!

The Cinema Society's very own Andrew Saffir just returned from a whirlwind journey to Los Angeles. We asked him to chronicle some of the highlights of the trip and did he ever deliver! Enjoy Saffir's Hollywood Adventure!

"Woke up Monday morning feeling a little like Charlie Sheen. Had everything to do with the fact that Daniel and I got home on Sunday night at 5:30 a.m. and were up and at ‘em a couple of hours later. Now granted, there were no buxom porn stars or mystery briefcases around, but Daniel’s and my schedule and full-on burning of the candle at both ends this past week/weekend, could indeed rival Charlie Sheen’s. You see, it was Oscar week in LA (of course, my favorite week of the whole year). The New York Times in their Week in Review section this past Sunday claimed that New Yorkers were descending on LA during awards season, and leading the charge evidently are none other than Harvey Weinstein, Graydon Carter, and yours truly. Now, I’m not sure my pilgrimage to movie Mecca deserves such illustrious recognition, but gosh, it sure is a fun, albeit exhausting week, akin to the breakneck pace of the most intense of Fashion Weeks.

Let’s start with the Tuesday before. Graydon Carter hosts a cocktail party for Wendy Stark and the opening of the restaurant Ray’s (named after Wendy’s dad, famed Funny Girl producer Ray Stark) at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. The party feels like very chic, old Hollywood. Then it’s off to Paul Haggis’ & Pierce Brosnan’s party (also with Vanity Fair) for Paul’s incredible charity, Artists for Peace & Justice, which we love to support. Then we step on the gas to Santa Monica to an opening Donna Karan is hosting with Russell James, and speaking of Funny Girl, the original Funny Girl herself is there with Donna. Yep, I mean Barbra (!). Then it’s a cool, tiny little after-party with Donna, Babs, Josh Lucas, Amy Sacco and more at the Viceroy. Home at 2:00 a.m.-ish.

Wednesday night, it’s the Dior Beauty/Weinstein Co. dinner at the Chateau Marmont. Harvey knows how to give a party (as does Dior Beauty) and this one is super-starry and glam. Halle Berry, Anne Hathaway, Sharon Stone, the gorgeous Georgina Chapman, and tons more. Endless streams of Moët, and next thing we know it’s 1:00 a.m. yet again.

Thursday night we pick up pal Michelle Monaghan and her hubby Pete White and hit the town running, starting with our favorite men’s designer and friend Tom Ford’s new store opening. The store is beyond, and packed to the glammest of gills with stars. Tom Hanks & Rita Wilson, Adrien Brody, Elizabeth Banks, Colin Firth, and on and on. Nobody does men’s clothes (and now women’s again) like Tom. We covet everything in sight. Next stop – the Chateau Marmont for Forevermark’s chic little supper for Michelle Williams. Then off to Soho House for two parties. We spot Leonardo DiCaprio, Helen Mirren, Amanda Seyfried and heaps more. Highlight of the night: we get to see ELEW (Eric Lewis) play piano. Mind-blowing. We first saw him months ago at Gerard Butler’s birthday bash and we’re officially obsessed (he also played at our last movie premiere). You’ve never seen piano playing like this. Home at 1:00 a.m.

Friday night is Hollywood Power Player night. First stop is uber-agent Ari Emanuel’s glamorous Brentwood house. Teeming with stars. I am obsessed with his ultra-chic screening room and want to move in. Next stop, Hollywood King Bryan Lourd’s bash. The party is ultra-private (no press at all), so I feel like I ought not to divulge too much, but suffice it to say, it is wall-to-wall A-listers (A+ listers, actually) as far as the eye can see. And everyone is relaxed and kicking back. What a group! Daniel drags me (unwillingly) out at close to 1:00 a.m. (I would have happily stayed all night – the party and Bryan’s house are beyond). Highlight for Daniel: meeting Sofia Vergara. She is hot!

Saturday day is Barry Diller’s & Diane Von Furstenberg’s lunch at their house. This one is always a ton of fun. Relaxed and delicious and an amazing mix of people, and Barry & Diane are incredibly warm and gracious hosts. Oprah sighting!! Saturday night is the Night Before party, masterminded by DreamWorks’ Jeffrey Katzenberg, Stacey Snider and Chip Sullivan. Again, stars galore. Every big name in town. Warren & Annette, Cameron, Jennifer Aniston, Jake Gyllenhaal….and Sofia Vergara again! Love! We run into Gwyneth, who tells us she’s nervous about her performance the following night (clearly she had nothing to worry about – her performance was amazing!). Then Harvey Weinstein’s party at Soho House, with Montblanc. Yet more stars perched in every nook and cranny. Jennifer Lopez, Kerry Washington, Ryan Phillippe and scads more. Home at 2:00 a.m.

Then Sunday, the big guns. The King’s Speech, The Social Network, & The Fighter deservedly win most of the top prizes and after the awards it’s off to the pièce de résistance of Oscar parties, Graydon Carter’s unparalleled Vanity Fair Oscar party at Jeff Klein’s smart Sunset Tower Hotel. This party, thanks to Graydon and his amazing, talented and hard-working team, never, ever disappoints. Madonna, Charlize, Gwyneth, Mick, Hugh Jackman, Jane Fonda, Jon Hamm, Jude Law, Scarlett Johansson, Valentino and the two Justins (Timberlake & Bieber) and every trophy winner of the night, and every other A-lister around. And Sofia Vergara gives Daniel a smooch! Score! Then we slip off to the final party of the weekend – Madonna’s & Demi Moore’s party at Guy Oseary’s AMAZING house. Last year we stayed until 4:00 a.m. This year, we broke our record. This one too is private with zero press, so I think I need to plead the fifth here, but trust me when I say, this is one KILLER party. Every Oscar winner and every major name you can think of, while Madonna holds court on the dance floor and gets everyone going all night long. Home at 5:30 a.m.  And back to New York (sigh) the next day.
