Silk and Moet at the Carlton Hotel
Fueled by champers, obsessed with splendid jackets, hell-bent on twisted basics---there's a lot to love about the current flock of British designerettes. One to watch is Zoe Jordan, whose Irwin & Jordan line was softly launched in the States last night with a Moet reception at the Carlton Hotel. A bevvy of New Yorkaises (Lesley Schulhof, Annelise Peterson, Cena Jackson, et al.) mingled with recent London transplant Imogen Lloyd Webber---and personal orders were made my most, if not all. "You can just kind of throw it all on, and none of it is outrageously expensive," said Jordan. But the best pieces? Slip-on silk jackets, slightly pleated trousers, and a few peplum jackets, which range from $500 to $700. They're available at Arcade Boutique in Los Angeles.

(Ring) Pop Art!
Ring pops, while a delicious and nostalgic sweet treat, also make for ultra-chic wall art. Who knew? Brooklyn-based artist Julia Chiang arranged the rainbow-colored candy baubles to spell out equally saccharine phrases like, “hugs and kisses,” and Chiang’s ring pop installation was displayed at this year’s Art Basel Miami in the group show, “It Ain’t Fair.” We’re reminded of the fruity wallpaper in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but we’ll resist the temptation to give the wall a lick.

Just Jackets, Please
There are so few decent jackets these days---at least those that retail for under $1,000. (Dommage, Ann and Karl.) So Misha Nonoo and Deborah Lyons responded with Nonoo Lyons, a tiny collection of jackets that quietly launched for Fall 2009. Having grown up and worked all over (from Bahrain to London to Paris to Florence and now, New York), the designers focused on that singular item that goes with essentially everything else you own. For Spring, they used Coney Island as a backdrop for a calendar-style lookbook, in which each month gets its own jacket. Chic prefers Miss January, a nipped-waist Yves Klein blue number. Especially divine with Spring 2010 Givenchy. (Just a thought.)

Miss Hawaiian Tropics
Lily, darling, where have you been? After only walking one show during the Fall 2010 season--Louis Vuitton--Lily Donaldson has popped up in this Steven Klein-shot Vogue Paris spread alongside Monika "Jac" Jagaciak (who walked in nearly 50 in Milan and Paris alone, by the way), and both look like they could use a serious vacation. A colorful lei does not turn a dirty parking lot into the tropics, loves...

Christina Hendricks, Video Vixen
We've long been a fan of Mad Men bombshell Christina Hendricks, and now, indie music fans will get to embrace what those following her every Sterling-Cooper move do each week. Chic Report heard last night at Ann Taylor’s Fall 2010 presentation and cocktail party (at which Hendricks and Rachel Bilson were the guests of honor) that the actress is rushing back to L.A. to shoot a music video for the new band Broken Bells—the collaboration between Brian Burton (a.k.a. Danger Mouse) and Shins lead singer and guitarist James Mercer. Their self-titled debut album was released earlier this month—we say jump on board maintenant!
