Let's end this week with another Chic mystery! Who did Terry Richardson snap wearing these beary cute shoes? We think we know, but we can't confirm. Our best guess is this quirky designer.

Ann Demeulemeester unveiled her Fall collection in her usual black-on-black style. No surprise there! But! The deliciously noir-obsessed designer also sent models down the Paris runway in a handful of intriguingly cocoon-like fur coats. Is this our luxe answer to the snuggie of yesteryear? Discuss!

French Vogue's EIC Emmanuelle Alt snuggles up to Nordic hottie & Pucci creative director Peter Dundas last night at the Vogue Bar at the Hôtel de Crillon in Paris. We might have to contact our body language expert Patti Wood to get the scoop on this one! Check out another pic in our Gallery of Alt and the American Voguettes.

Blake Lively took a few moments to gab with Chic at her Chanel dinner party yesterday before wining and dining an unexpected mix of guests including Justin Long, Byrdie Bell, Lauren Dupont, Lauren Remington Platt, Tory Burch, and Australian chef Curtis Stone. (Lively is a self-professed foodie but the random sighting was a shocker nonetheless.)

What's your dream afternoon with Anna Wintour?
My dream afternoon already happened! It was in Paris in July when she first introduced me to Karl.

What percentage of your closet is Chanel?
Oh, a lot! 80 percent of my handbags are Chanel and for Christmas, they gave me a pair of Chanel couture sequined boots that someone handstitched--it's incredible.

Where would you want to dine with Coco if you had the chance?
I don't think anywhere could be more magical than her apartment. Every piece in there has significance and every piece in there, Karl will use for inspiration.

What should Karl invent next?
That's up to him. He's the genius. Honestly, Karl can design no wrong so I'm on board for whatever he wants to invent.

Wes Gordon's Miami Holiday

What's Has Wes Been Up To? What's Has Wes Been Up To?

It's been a few weeks since Wes Gordon's triumphant presentation. What has our rising star been up to? He finally took a wee holiday! Let's hear all about it.

"On February 10th, after much stress and many sleepless nights, I presented my Fall 2011 collection at the St. Regis hotel.  I'm so pleased with how everything went and am beyond grateful to the amazingly talented people that made it all come together. We've had great feedback and are proud to be launching the collection in some amazing stores. But, as anyone in fashion knows, the show/presentation is hardly the end of the tunnel!  Beginning almost immediately after is Market Week. During this time, our showroom becomes a busy (sometimes chaotic) assemblage of buyers choosing the pieces they'd like for their respective stores. My favorite part of market? The studio is OVERFLOWING with cookies, snacks, and macarons!  After Market ends, trunk shows begin.  This means that during a period of about six weeks, I will spend much more time in airports than my own apartment. I love doing them and it’s fantastic to meet our clients- but a guy’s gotta sleep once in a while!

So, totally worn out and in need of a recharge, a long weekend in Miami seemed like the perfect solution. And it was! I stayed at the amazing new Soho House Miami. Two notable things about this hotel: they literally have the best tuna tartare on earth, and the Cowshed Spa massage is a life saver (I fell asleep during a massage for the first time in my life). I became so relaxed there that even finishing one full Vanity Fair article seemed like too much effort.

One thing that we did muster up the energy for, however, was a great dinner out every night. One of my all-time favorite London restaurants is Cecconis and, lucky for me, they opened an outpost in the hotel. All of our meals were fantastic: sitting outside at Casa Tua, enjoying crispy beef at Mr. Chow, and Michelle Bernstein’s terrific Senora Martinez, located in the awesome Design District.  I love the way that the area’s streets of beautiful furniture shops are now intermixed with fashion, including Margiela, Louboutin and Marni boutiques, to name a few. After a great few days, I am back in the city, excited for the trunk shows, and ready to start on Spring 2012!"

He's Come Undone: The New Yorker On Galliano's Unraveling

Yesterday's post on The New Yorker's "News Desk" blog about Galliano was penned by Michael Specter, who wrote a fantastic profile of the doomed designer entitled "The Fantasist" seven years ago. Here, a few wise theories courtesy of Specter for making sense of Galliano's madness:

1. One's personal demons and hedonistic vices are often romanticized by the style set: "Even Galliano’s drug abuse was seen by many of the most prominent people in fashion as an adorable foible, like wearing a monocle or writing with a fountain pen."

2. Prominent people should stop doing irrational and incriminating things because there's an iPhone lurking around every corner: " ...[Galliano] also denied the worst charges, which would certainly have been the thing to do if his perfidious behavior had not been captured by someone’s camera phone. (When are famous people going to realize that the days of private outbursts in public places have ended?)"

3. Be offended and disgusted, but don't be surprised: "But who could be shocked at his behavior? Who would have expected any other end?"

4. Fashion is forgiving since train wrecks happen... "If it is the end: the fashion world has a remarkable ability to shrug off the odd deeply flawed human being, as long as he or she can... wear one like Kate Moss, who, despite behavior that sets a disastrous example for millions of girls, including issues with drugs, is forgiven because, well, she is really very pretty."

5. ...And they happen quite often: "Let’s watch the self-righteous indignation and reserve a little anger for the enablers. Because when it comes to people like John Galliano, there are way too many of them to count."
