Perez Hilton and Paula Abdul presented at the NewNowNext Awards last night in Los Angeles, and the blogger that just won't quit wore custom head-to-toe Mugler. Why do we feel a little sad that Nicola Formichetti is spending his time making these outfits?

Greg Lauren SS 2011 View Gallery
Despite the drizzle, Chic made it to a quaint East Village studio to meet Greg Lauren and view the latest collection for his eponymous outerwear line. There's no mistaking the handsome painter-turned-designer is the nephew of Ralph Lauren. (Those cheeks! That hair!) Don't expect the same polo-stick wielding aesthetic. Although he is a Princeton grad, this Ivy Leaguer steers clear of the iconic, preferring to riff on classics by practicing what the Japanese call Wabi-sabi--finding the beauty in imperfection. For men and women, expect patchwork jackets made of deconstructed military duffles or vintage army tents in olive or black. Destroyed chalk stripe blazers takeover as the modern pinstripe alternative, expertly tattered and ripped just so. Wardrobe staples like the Spine jacket, named for its functional button back, and the black cashmere Batman overcoat, featuring an asymmetrical collar and torn elbow patches, are desk-to-dinner essentials. Lauren completes each piece with a handwritten tag and makes sure there's something for every costumer whether it's a bleached denim cropped jacket, a fitted leather blazer in chocolate or "phonebook" red, or a basic tee for your Daily needs. There must be something in those genes. Greg Lauren is sold at Barney's New York and Maxfield.

We know you have a favorite designer, but does your house represent the clothes you wear? Tibi designer Amy Smilovic is back with more suggestions on how to design around your wardrobe. This week, she takes on Phillip Lim's Spring collection.
"I absolutely adored the soft palette of Phillip Lim’s Spring Collection. Phillip’s girl will look chic in a room adorned with my favorite chair from Acne founder Jonny Johansson and a zebrawood glass-topped table from Vladimir Kagan. A room always looks most modern when you mix a myriad of eras—mid-century modern, a python mirror from the 70s, and sculptural brass andirons from the 1980s. All of these neutrals are fabulously juxtaposed with the bold saturated strokes of this piece from Anders Oinonen. Focusing on what I’m wearing in a room allows me to accessorize with the perfect interior pieces."

On Wednesday night, Chic squeezed into Spasso in the West Village for Vera Wang's fete for Glamour editor-in-chief Cindi Leive's new cookbook, 100 Recipes Every Woman Should Know: Engagement Chicken and 99 Other Dishes to Get You Everything You Want in Life. Wang, the evening's hostess, who dressed four Glamour readers out of a whopping 72 ladies and counting (!) who've gotten hitched thanks to the "Engagement Chicken" for a recent spread in the mag, described herself as "a really decent cook, but I have a chef." Italian and Chinese are frequent staples in the Wang kitchen, "and we do a really good turkey as well," along with her daughters Cecilia and Josephine's penchant for Japanese takeout and "those thick soups" from Hale & Hearty. The crowd at Spasso was thick with media and fashionettes, including Chris Benz, Eddie Borgo, Maria Cornejo, Christian Cota, Linda Fargo, Rachel Roy, Anna Sui and Bill Wackermann.
So Cindi, are there any recipes that didn't make the cut?
Hmm. "Divorce Lasagna," maybe?
What are you favorite restaurants in the city?
My very favorite restaurant is Bocca Lupo in Cobble Hill. It's directly across the street from my house, which is extremely dangerous. Sometimes I'll go to take out the trash at 10:30 p.m. and suddenly it'll be three hours later and I'll be coming home from Bocca Lupo. The garlic shrimp is just amazing.
How often do you cook?
I probably cook about three times a week. Maybe once a week when things are going good, and twice on the weekends.
Any repeat dishes you whip up over and over?
The burgers in the cookbook, which are called "Get Him to Clean the House Burgers." And they work, because my house is very clean thanks to my husband. There's also a jalepano chicken dish that I make all the time. It's incredibly easy: you blenderize a big bunch of cilantro, an entire jalepano, five garlic cloves and a bunch of soy sauce. You just toss it in a Ziploc and leave it for four hours or overnight is fine. You will get a million compliments, it's my number one go-to dish.
Do you ever bring leftovers?
No, but I should. My bags are too small to accommodate Tupperware. When they do Louboutin Tupperware, I'm on it.
What food magazine would you want to edit?
I wouldn't want to edit a food magazine! That's too much responsibility. I love reading Bon Appetit, and I love the Gourmet "Special Editions," like the Italian one. I think the recipes in Real Simple are the best. Go back to the archives and find the recipe for sweet pea and mint toasts, and the "chocolate in a cup" dessert.
If you opened a restaurant one day, what kind of cuisine would you serve?
It would be fundamentally Moroccan, because my grandfather is from Morocco and the biggest cooks in our family were always his sisters. So I would hire my great aunt, age 98, to make her famous Moroccan chicken with preserved lemon.
What are you obsessed with right now?
I'm a thousand percent obsessed with Words with Friends on the iPhone. It's like a faux scrabble app, and I have seven games going at any given time with different friends, many in fashion and magazines. If I can ever beat Hal Rubenstein from InStyle it will be a very good day!

Chic's beloved Adele is featured in Elle's May "Women In Music" issue, which also features Nicki Minaj, Robyn, Gwen Stefani, Stevie Nicks, Florence Welch and Aretha. She tells Elle that she hasn't exactly been in touch with her ex, who inspires a lot of her music. "We're not on great enough terms for me to say, 'Oh, have you heard my record? It's number one; did you know?'" We have a feeling that somehow, he's gotten word.

We think our Chic mommy Stacey Bendet of Alice + Olivia is having her baby today! Never one to put her feet up in the final days of pregnancy, the designer sent in her best bets for how to kill time in the hospital post-baby. "It’s a C-Section, so 4 nights in the hospital requires some packing and planning!"she said. What did Stacey bring? Find out in our Gallery!
UPDATE: It's a girl! Scarlet Haven Eisner was born this afternoon to Stacey and her husband, producer Eric Eisner. Congratulations!
