What's going on in this picture? Glasses on? Glasses off? We can't tell! The Row's Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen look so serious in this shot, but we're pretty sure this was taken before their nomination for Swarovski's award for Womenswear. Congrats, girls! Not-so-Chic confession: We still can't tell them apart.

Last week, The Daily kicked off "The Assistant Files" with Sergio Kletnoy, the fiercest assistant to ever set foot in Hearst Tower. Want more juicy tidbits and hilarious deets on life as Marie Claire EIC Joanna Coles' gatekeeper? Every week, Chic will be checking in with Sergio about what's going on in the MC offices, the Hearst caf, and beyond.
Sunday, 12 a.m.
My week began early with a birthday roast for a friend’s dad—he’s a dentist to the stars—at the club Kiss & Fly. Before listening to some filthy jokes, I found myself on the dance floor with Julianna Margulies and (wait for it) Martha Stewart. It’s a good thing.
Monday, 7:30 a.m.
My day always starts off with me trying on half of my closet 20 minutes before heading off for work. I settled on a Raf Simons sweatshirt, Mishka baseball cap and a fresh pair of Y-3 kicks. It was Joanna’s first day back in the office after Paris fashion week, and I had to get in early, tea in hand, as the list of new looks and accessories she had to have right NOW will be longer than usual. Sometimes I wish I could be like Bubbles, the notoriously stupid assistant on Absolutely Fabulous. But I guess I wouldn’t have lasted this long at Marie Claire if I just played dumb.
Monday, 11:47 a.m.
The best thing about working at Hearst is our cafeteria. Every single day the staff counts down the minutes until we can race to the third floor and check out the Chef’s Special. I lucked out—it was my fave, the most delicious Asian chopped chicken salad I have ever tasted. I wish to marry it.
Wednesday, 2:14 p.m.
Someone in the accessories department gave me an amazing eco-shopper by Thursday Friday. It’s a basic totebag screen-printed to look like a Birkin. Before I can send it to my mom, Joanna spied it at my desk, and it suddenly become my mission to find one for her ASAP. As it turns out, the "Together" bag already has a three-month waiting list thanks to some legal issues Thursday Friday is having with the real Birkin folks. But even a lawsuit won’t stop me from scoring one for my boss. I was determined to have it on Joanna’s desk by the end of the day and, as usual, I did not disappoint. My telephone charm is legendary.
Thursday, 12:30 p.m.
I still really miss working in music from time to time, especially on a week when three amazing albums land on my desk: Britney, Ellie Goulding and Beth Ditto. My co-workers and I have been obsessively listening to all three on repeat for days now. Late night, my side of the office can get pretty rowdy.
Friday, 10 a.m.
After a crazy week, the thing I’m looking forward to the most is tonight’s screening of the new documentary Bill Cunningham New York. That man is a legend and a true visionary. All I have to do is get Joanna out the door, loaded up with copy to read over the weekend in her new Thursday Friday bag, and keep my Blackberry and iPhone on at all times over the weekend just in case THE BOSS needs me.

Since this Pepsi ad aired in 1997, a lot has changed in the world... Tyra went all Madonna and dropped the Banks last Friday on Ellen, and Pepsi slimmed down recently with the debut of its diet "Skinny Can." This commercial, featuring Tyra flanked by Cindy Crawford and Bridget Hall, takes Chic back to the good ol' days of too-dark matte raisin lipstick, and close-ups of Cindy's mole.

Holographic models? Yep. Tons of leather trimmings? Of course. Improvd's first store on 819 Washington has it all. The Meatpacking locale carries designer Valentino Vettori's latest collection from the accessible avant-garde line in a space once occupied by Helmut Lang. Improvd's first collection was Spring 2010 yet business is booming for the young label. A Miami store is scheduled to open in May, a Cali store in July, and two more New York locations are in the works.

During the fifth annual Teen Vogue Readers' Choice Awards earlier this week, teens' 47 best-of picks were honored with a breakfast awards ceremony. But what about the beauty moments of the editors behind the mag's pages? Chic chatted hair nightmares and got the dish on the beauty closet with Teen Vogue beauty and heath director Eva Chen.
What were your teenage beauty faux pas?
We could be here all day. When I was in middle school, I very strongly resembled a boy. I’ve always wanted to pull off that pixie-ish, Michelle Williams cut. I did that once when I was younger, and people actually thought I was a boy and called me Evan. It still scars me sometimes when I get mail addressed to Evan by accident. I also had the Rachel cut, and it wasn’t so flattering. I had a moment when I wanted to get those really cool My So-Called Life highlights, so I had red skunk stripes. I was just your standard teenage story; kind of awkward.
How do you keep track of all the products in your life?
When you open my bathroom door, an avalanche of beauty products falls out. I’ve adopted this new theory that if I take a product home, I have to bring another back to the office or give it away. So I have some very lucky friends and family.
What was your first intro to the beauty closet like?
I remember going into the beauty closet the first day of my first internship, and my brain literally exploded! They told me to clean out the old products, and I schlepped home like four bags. I couldn’t believe it was someone’s job to organize beauty products.
What’s the story with the Teen Vogue beauty closet?
My beauty assistant, Laurel Pantin, is the keeper of the key. The closet is a magical place, and you can smell it from down the hallway—it’s very fragrant. The beauty closet is different from the fashion closet; I can’t just dip in and borrow some fabulous Jason Wu dress. The beauty closet is attainable and accessible. If you’re having a bad day, stop by, take some nail polish and everything is better! Plus, I only have ten fingers and so much surface area of skin, so I do need some guinea pigs. Luckily, the Teen Vogue staff is willing.
Have you ever cut someone off from the closet?
We do have some beauty addicts, for sure, but everyone is more or less respectful. Everyone has a beauty-obsessed side. It’s just about tapping into yours, and letting her come out to play.

On Thursday night, Chic ducked into Paul & Andre, Hollywood’s most talked-about spot of the moment co-owned by Paul Sevigny (of course), for a screening of "Truth or Dare," a short, raw film by Sophomore starring Chloe Sevigny, Jen Brill, Lesley Arfin, Scott Campbell and PJ Ransone. After adventuring behind trash bins in an inconspicuous, dark Hollywood alley and down two treacherous flights of stairs, an eerie hallway and random kitchen corridor, Chic was flanked by a hip crowd of Samaire Armstrong, Hillary Rush, Chrissie Miller, Samantha Traina and Frankie Rayder. Sponsored by Kanon Organic Vodka, the party presented the B&W film depicting candid moments among a group of friends playing the classic game in a hotel room. Nicky Hilton, clad in an eclectic high/low mix of Alaia, Lanvin and H&M, took a break from texting in the corner of the club to chat.
What did you think of the film?
It was funny. I know all of those girls from New York, so it was entertaining to watch them interact on film.
Have you played Truth or Dare in the past?
A little. I didn’t really like answering questions, so I was always dared to kiss people. Which I would never do.
Would you ever consider starring in a short film like that one?
Yeah, I would do something like that with friends. But only with my friends…
What are you focusing on right now?
My jewelry line. And a ton of new fashion projects.
