Zip It
Chic's piggy bank is looking especially empty these days, but thankfully, the Mulleavy sisters understand. These Rodarte s307 pants are complete with all the trimmings: metal embellishments, cut-outs, scales...A Chic challenge: can you count how many zippers adorn these pants? Although we don’t think you could fit much more than a credit card inside the pockets. But if you’re dropping $2K on shredded pants, then a credit card is probably all you need. THE DETAILS: Opening Ceremony, $2,300

Me, Myself & Melissa
In the words of infamous ‘90s pop band, Aqua, “Life in plastic, it’s fantastic.” Brazilian brand Melissa and Italian architect and designer Gaetano Pesce couldn’t agree more. The latest collaborative collection features ankle boots made entirely of interconnected plastic circles, available in your hue of choice. Is it just nous, or do these booties look like a chicer version of those no-slip grip pads you find in the shower?

Eye Spy
Even the most zealous of label enthusiasts may bat an eyelash or two at the sight of these Dior contact lenses. While we adore a Dior confection as much as the next, Chic isn’t quite sure we’d like a monogram plastered all over our retinas. Save it for a handbag, darling. Not only do these lenses come stamped with the Dior logo, but they make your peepers look as if they’re coated in gold. So, you decide—is eyeball branding crossing the logo line?

Marion's Musings
Everyone’s favorite Parisian, Marion Cotillard, graces the cover of July’s Vogue, as shot by Mario Testino. Inception hits theaters this summer, and we are eagerly awaiting our opportunity to see Cotillard in the sci-fi action thriller alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. But until the release date, we suggest you tide yourself over with some of our favorite Cotillard moments from the July issue:
“I play the bass guitar, keyboard, and tambourine—I’m their one-woman band and all-purpose maid.”-On playing in the band Yodelice fronted by composer Mazim Nucci.
“The hairdo with the big personality, the thick bangs and the ponytail. You paint your character with colors you have taken from everywhere.”-On her character in Nine
"…I found myself articulating why Piaf was still living inside me. She had been abandoned as a child; her greatest fear was to be alone. Now I didn’t want to abandon her. I finally was able to say, ‘She’s been dead for 40 years; it’s OK.’”-On her portrayal of and connection to Edith Piaf in La Vie en Rose
