Alert! A Giant Dior Purse Now Adorns 57th Street!
This might be one of the most profoundly impressive construction barricades ever erected. Shawmut Design and Construction recently completed and unveiled this giant Dior purse (outside of the retailer’s East 57th Street flagship) that will entertain all observers until the store re-opens in early December. The bag stands 20 feet in height and spans 33 feet in width, and the bottom of the purse is an astounding 10 feet deep. But the biggest question is: where will this little gem wind up after its East Side stint?

The Only Brand Those Lauren Children Know is Ralph Lauren!
The sibling troika of Andrew, David, and Dylan Lauren made the 2010 Vanity Fair Best Dressed list, and why not? Their father created an empire (that loves, loves, loves Vanity Fair), their mother is impossibly chic, and the three children themselves---well, they're nothing if not loyal. In the magazine's mini-questionnaires, Dylan names her favorite item of clothing as a turquoise silk gown by Ralph Lauren, and Andrew's favorite watch is the Ralph Lauren Slim Classique, but it's David's devotion that really impresses Chic. He is, after all, the only sibling to have joined the family business, with Dylan the proprieter of Dylan's Candy Bar and Andrew working as a movie producer. David's favorite item of clothing? "25-year-old Ralph Lauren herringbone blazer." Favorite fashion purchase of 2010? "RRL jeans from St. Germain Paris store." Favorite shoes? "Official Ralph Lauren team USA Olympic hiking boots." Favorite tailor? "Anyone at the Ralph Lauren Mansion." Favorite watch? "Ralph Lauren Large Stirrup." David's favorite cause is even Pink Pony, the brand's very own creast cancer fund. Keep your driving shoes on…there is yet another application out there to add to your already growing list of necessary apps. Tod’s just launched its first app for the iPad, “My Life is in this Bag,” which allows users to view the expansive range of Tod’s D Bags and virtually sift through the contents of Lauren Remington Platt’s purse (and other Tod’s enthusiasts). But what Chic really has its eye on are the luxe leather iPad cases…even if we don’t have the actual device, we surely can find a way to make use of one, no?

RIP Robbie Myers’ Twitter?! (8.2.10-8.5.10)
"Good morning everyone, what's in store for you today?" wondered the ever-eloquent Robbie Myers on her Twitter feed yesterday. (It was delish enough to be anointed our Quote of the Daily!) But this morning, as we eagerly checked in for another adorable post, the Elle-itrix's Twitter page was all but gone (or suspended, as they say). Was Robbie discouraged after just two and a half days (!), or is Twitter actually experiencing some tech problems? We know living up to Joe Zee’s Tweets might be daunting, but we never imagined Robbie to be the Twitter Quitter type!
