How to Fill a Space, Tisci-Style
The Givenchy show venue was smaller than ever. Riccardo Tisci's solution? Just invite the celebs! Justin Timberlake was in town for the Paris premiere of The Social Network, so he occupied a choice seat alongside Liv Tyler, Courtney Love, and Lily Allen. But most surprising was all the fellow designers filling out the rest of the front row, especially Alexander Wang, Peter Dundas, and Gareth Pugh. It's OK, love—the editors and buyers can always look at photos!

Janet Jackon's Surprise Appearances
Haider Ackermann has a cult following, and that now includes one Janet Jackson. Chic heard a few rumors that she was in Paris, but we expected her to show at Lanvin next to Glenda, per usual. (She did, of course). But it looks like she has a new obsession in the form of the Colombian designer, whose deconstructed eveningwear and sexy day pieces won the usual raves. And then she hit up John Galliano on Saturday night, seated right next to Sidney Toledano. Talk about a woman with varied tastes.

Live from Paris: Late to Lanvin
6:45 p.m., Paris: "If I miss Alber because of f*cking Margiela..." lamented one soggy American editor hustling into the Halle Freyssinet at 6:32 p.m., exactly 62 minutes after the show was scheduled to start. Don't worry, cherie---the waiters were still serving orange juice and champagne. The late-starting Margiela show and persistent rain---not to mention talk of a manifestation in town---meant that traffic was worse than the LIE during Labor Day Weekend. The ever-thoughtful Alber respected your struggles. As of now---6:45---the lights are just dimming and Frida Gustavsson is opening the show in a grey silk skirt and nude tank. Signing off---for now...
