“The inspiration for the collection is from all the cool girls that have inhabited New York City who have ferocious attitude and can take a plastic bag and put it over their heads, wear it as a scarf and go to the club. I love fashion and I think its fine to take a look at it and take a humorous take on  it.”—Jeremy Scott post-show

The Broadway Hustle, n.: The stiletto-ed dance performed by Lincoln Center showgoers while hurrying to get to the 1 train and, accordingly, a downtown show. Example: "Did you see all those Bazaars doing the Broadway Hustle after J.Mendel? The Ralph show was starting in 30 minutes...in Tribeca!"

During the 3.1 Phillip Lim show, both Kanye West and Anna Dello Russo took their respective perches in the front row. Afterwards, the two showered each other with compliments and praised one another’s outfits. “I love your feathers and your purse,” gushed Kanye. “Oh thank you very much! It would go very well with the color you are wearing,” smiled the editor. Then,ADR shared the thought behind her ensemble with The Daily...“I am wearing Jason Wu because I went to see him this afternoon and he gave me this as a present. I want to please him because I think he is such a talent. Plus, this was the same dress as worn by Michelle Obama. I feel so American today!”

Nanette Lepore was inspired by carpentry for her Spring 2011 collection, and post-show, we asked the delightfully diminutive Kristin Chenoweth if she would ever try her hand at the trade.

How are your carpentry skills?
Oh my! I should never, ever try my hand at woodworking or carpentry! I'll leave that to my brother.
What did you make of the show?
I think that it was so inspired, and I loved that live music! That long pink dress with the sequins was fabulous, and I loved the swimsuits. I definitely appreciate the fact that she's bringing back the one-pieces.
Now is it back to Broadway?
Oh yes, I've got two shows today!

Michael Kors, How Does Your Garden Grow?

Before the sunny Michael Kors show, we caught up with the designer, one of the blessed few to have a lush garden in New York. Kors gave all the dirt on his green thumb…

How are you?
I'm in a sunshine state of mind! The collection is all about my beach house and my garden here in New York. I'm lucky enough to have an amazing garden in the city. It's the whole idea of the easiness of the clothes that you would wear around the home, but still very glamorous and sexy. It's a beautiful, sunny day outside so it's kind of all working together.
And how does your garden grow?
Oh I have amazing peonies, zinnias, lilacs! It's really a veritable jungle, and so much of it became a part of this collection.
Any departures for you this collection?
I've never had a show with no black! No stilettos, either. We did a lot of handsmocking, which is so tactile---it just makes you want to reach out and touch it.
You love the warm weather, but how hot is too hot?
I'm probably the only person out there who thinks Florida in July and August is just terrific. Shorts and a pair of flip flops and consider me a happy guy.
